WELCOME REMARKS
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizational Committee and the International Society for Solid State Ionics (ISSI) we would like to invite you to participate in the 18th International Conference on Solid State Ionics which will take place in Warsaw in July 2011.
Due to the interdisciplinary character of the research in the field of solid state ionics, the issues and problems brought up at the conference also cover a wide range: from the description of the materials' characteristics and the ion transport processes to discussions about manufacturing technologies, the construction and applications of devices based on ionic conductors. Scientists from different fields are welcome to present their recent results. Every morning a plenary lecture will provide introduction for oral presentations and poster sessions. Equipment demonstrations, software and book exhibitions and workshop on experimental techniques are also planned.
We hope that SSI-18 conference will be fruitful meeting and will continue success of previous last decade SSI meetings in Cairns in Australia, Monterey in USA, Baden-Baden in Germany, Shanghai in China and Toronto in Canada. Besides the scientific program, you will have a chance to visit the dynamically developing city of Warsaw with its multi-cultural and scientific heritage.
