SpringerMaterials Interactive: launch of sophisticated new features at the ACS Meeting in San Francisco |

 The SpringerMaterials team is proud to present a new set of advanced, interactive functionalities based on digitized data sets. These features will be presented at the Spring 2017 Meeting of the American Chemical Society in San Francisco on April 3rd.
To further enhance our offerings for materials scientists, the SpringerMaterials team set out to digitize the substantial collection of PDF-based data. In this case, digitization refers to extracting materials data from PDF files, processing it, and then building advanced features on top of this data. The data extraction itself was carried out with the scientific collaboration of Prof. Stuart Chalk of the University of North Florida, who is a prominent figure in the scientific data and cheminformatics fields. |

These new digitized data sets and advanced features, now collectively called SpringerMaterials Interactive, cover four advanced functionalities: |

- Consolidated Search Results: at a glance of results from multisource data sets. Previously, these data were scattered across various documents.
- Interactive Plots: data plots with customizable data visualizations based on parameters of choice (e.g., pressure, temperature, etc.)
- Materials Comparison: side-by-side comparison of multiple material properties
- Property Range Search: search for materials based on a property range (e.g., search for all materials with a refractive index >1.60)
